Disability Etiquette and Awareness
"Divanubhuti" is an impactful campaign initiated by Uddip Social Welfare Society aimed at promoting disability etiquette and awareness across various sectors of society, including corporate employees, college students, and school students. The primary goal of this campaign is to foster a more inclusive and respectful environment for individuals with disabilities by educating people on how to interact, support, and engage with differently-abled individuals in everyday settings.
1.Raising Awareness: The campaign seeks to dispel common myths and misconceptions about disabilities, highlighting the capabilities and contributions of differently-abled individuals. It encourages understanding and empathy while addressing the importance of equal opportunity and accessibility.
2.Promoting Disability Etiquette: One of the core components of Divanubhuti is educating people on appropriate behavior when interacting with differently-abled individuals. This includes offering assistance without being overbearing, using respectful language, and understanding the specific needs of individuals with different types of disabilities.
3.Workshops and Training: Uddip organizes workshops tailored for corporate employees to create inclusive workplaces, for college students to encourage future leaders to advocate for accessibility, and for school students to build early-stage awareness. These sessions are interactive, often including role-playing scenarios to demonstrate proper etiquette and foster empathy.
4.Breaking Barriers: The campaign focuses on removing physical and social barriers that hinder the participation of differently-abled people in various fields. Through discussions on accessibility, universal design, and adaptive technologies, participants learn how small changes can make a significant difference.
5.Empowering Allies: Divanubhuti empowers individuals and organizations to become allies of the disability community. It encourages them to take proactive steps in creating a more inclusive society, whether by advocating for policy changes, promoting accessibility, or simply practicing mindful behaviour in day-to-day interactions.
By reaching out to diverse groups, from schools to corporates, Divanubhuti creates a ripple effect, ensuring that future generations grow up with a strong sense of inclusivity and respect for all abilities. This campaign plays a vital role in creating a more compassionate and equitable society, where individuals with disabilities are fully recognized for their potential.
